The project News from Nowhere is an ongoing talent development program in which graduates of various art, design and architecture educational institutes (Bachelor, Master & Post Graduate) are invited to collectively compile a ‘Manual for Civilisation’ and meet in a 24 hour residency.
The graduates will each be requested to choose a year in the future and formulate, in writing, visual or other form, a project proposal on a sheet of A4 paper, corresponding to that year. These pages can be based on personal and autonomous wishes for the future but could also relate to larger social, economic or cultural changes they envision.
The pages are published as part of a Manual for Civilisation, with a media partner, after the summer and followed up by a 24 hour residency in the UFO shaped Evoluon building in the city centre of Eindhoven in October 2017. Where a program takes place based on the submitted a4 project proposal pages.
As such News from Nowhere instigates a dialogue with a new cultural generation and broadcasts their views into reality as well as aims to provide them with an interdisciplinary network.
This website features the documentation of a pilot residency which took place in 2016.
